About the Role
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer who will play a critical technical role in shaping the scalability, reliability, and architecture of the Madgicx platform.
This is not a people-management role — it is a hands-on technical authority position. You will be directly involved in backend development, system design, architectural decision-making, and cross-team engineering excellence.
You’ll solve complex, high-scale problems, support core platform modernization, and establish best practices that enable Madgicx to grow as an AI-first, multi-agent system.

What you will be doing
- Contribute hands-on to backend services, APIs, and core infrastructure components.
- Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs), validate new technologies, and drive adoption of best practices.
- Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks across systems and integrations.
- Optimize API performance, service reliability, database efficiency, and system throughput.
- Improve interoperability of third-party connectors and integrations at scale.
- Collaborate with Data Science and AI teams to ensure the platform is fully AI-ready.
- Support ML and agentic workflows with high-performance backend systems.
- Promote and coach Agile/XP practices: pair programming, TDD, CI/CD, incremental delivery.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering Leadership, and AI/DS teams on system-wide initiatives.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges across the platform.
What you will bring to the table
- 5+ years of hands-on platform engineering experience in production environments.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and proven experience designing and implementing API-first backend architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable, high-performance backend systems and real-time streaming infrastructure.
- Deep hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and high-throughput API design.
- Expertise working with Google Cloud Platform (IAM, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and other native GCP services).
- Strong knowledge of stream processing technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redpanda/BigPanda) and large-scale data pipeline design.
- Experience with BigQuery performance tuning, data warehouse optimization, and data governance.
- Practical experience supporting AI/agentic workflows, including vector databases, LLM production integration, observability, and platform-level reliability patterns.
- Ability to design scalable platform components, integrations with advertising platforms, and infrastructure that supports ML/AI systems at scale.
